Amazon Germany is one of Amazon’s largest stores, and one of the best Amazon stores to use in Europe. Unfortunately for a lot of international shoppers, it’s all in German.
Don’t worry: there’s a fix. Simply click here and voilá Amazon Germany is now in English.
You can also switch to other languages including Dutch, Polish, Turkish, and Czech. Hopefully Amazon will add other European languages as well. Many European countries don’t have their own Amazon store (Portugal and Romania, for example) and often, where there is an Amazon store (Spain and France both have stores, for example), it isn’t as good as Amazon Germany. Along with Amazon UK, Amazon Germany is one of the best shopping sites in Europe and it would be great if other countries had easier access to it.
For now, it’s great just to see that it’s available in English. Amazon Germany is very popular with international shoppers, particularly from the UK, Ireland, and the USA. Germany also has a very large English-speaking population: more than 100,000 British people live in Germany, as well as a sizeable number of foreigners from the US, Canada, Australia, and other parts of the world.
How do I switch back to German?
You may want to switch Amazon.de from English to German, for example if you’re studying German. To do this, simply click the globe icon in the menu (it’s located next to ‘your account) and you will be given a list of language options.
